York Precision Plastics
began operations as K-Lite in Australia in 1969, and is now
the leading manufacturer of acrylic and thermoplastic sheeting
in the southern hemisphere.
With its Head Office based in
Riverwood, NSW – approximately 30 minutes from the centre
of Sydney, and 15 minutes from Sydney’s Kingsford Smith
International Airport, York Precision Plastics occupies a 2
and a 1⁄2 acre site bordering the new M5 Motorway.
YPP’s Riverwood location contains the YPP Plant, which
houses the company’s extruders, YPP’s central distribution
warehouse, which services its broad branch and customer network,
and YPP’s Head Office Administration.
In addition to its Sydney operations, YPP has offices and warehouses
in Brendale, Queensland; Sunshine West, Victoria; Croydon Park,
South Australia; and New Zealand with York Precision Plastics
NZ – a wholly owned subsidiary based in East Tamaki, Auckland.
York Precision Plastics operates two integrated commercial
divisions:
Lighting and Industrial.
The original
foundation of YPP’s business has its origin in the Lighting
Division. YPP is the largest extruder of acrylic prismatic diffuser
panels in Australia. In addition, YPP supplies the major lighting
manufacturers with their acrylic wraparound diffuser requirements.
To supplement
its locally-manufactured lighting products and cater for the
broader needs of the commercial lighting market, YPP imports
a range of lighting products sourced from its global partners:
Weatherproof case kits, Triumph lenses, Lookalite prismatic
reflectors, Acrilux injection molded lenses, vacuum metalized
louvres, and lampholders all make up YPP’s stable of imported
lighting products.

Beginning first with smooth flat sheet acrylic in 1990, YPP’s
Industrial Division has grown to encompass a variety of smooth and
embossed thermoplastic materials: PMMA, ABS, ASA, HIPS, and PETG
sheet are all extruded within YPP’s Sydney Plant.
The Industrial Division services customers across a myriad of industries:
Signage, Point-of-Sale, Building and Construction, Gaming, Automotive,
glazing, and general fabrication represent just some of the consumers
of YPP’s extruded material.
As with the Lighting Division, YPP’s Industrial Division imports
a variety of thermoplastic sheeting to enhance its stable of locally-manufactured
products: Cast Acrylic, Rigid and Foam PVC, Integral Foam PVC, and
Polycarbonate are distributed throughout YPP’s entire branch
network.
York Precision Plastics has a vast global network of suppliers,
importing raw materials and semi-finished products from premium
manufacturers all around the world as well as servicing a customer
base scattered throughout Southeast Asia and to regions as geographically
distant as the Middle East.
York Precision Plastics has been ISO Certified for over 10 years,
and is currently accredited to the ISO 9001 Quality Management system.
The quality, durability and longevity of York Precision Plastic’s
products can be observed within specialized projects such as highly
UV and weather exposed corporate signage to large commercial skylights.
